AI Safety Talk

Adam and Spencer were invited to speak at the AI Safety NE Event, Centre for AI Safety, National Edge AI Hub, Newcastle University.

The event brought together researchers and industry to share experiences around the theme of AI safety and security in a fast changing AI landscape.

In our talk (Ensuring safety in autonomous clinical assistants for healthcare consultations: the role of Applied Linguistics) we set out some of our recent work with Ufonia on overlapping talk in Human-AI interaction, and how to mitigate risks to safety when overlapping talk leads to interruption.
